Many Odoo projects stop at a few manufacturing orders entered by hand. Real production is something else: semi-finished products made before the finished product, materials tracked by lot, labels printed at each stage, recipes or prototypes that evolve, and a reliable cost price to set your prices.
Odoo handles all of this, provided it is configured around the way you produce: supply routes, replenishment rules, multi-level bills of materials, routings and work centres, traceability. We start from the standard, then add only what is missing: modules from the OCA (Odoo Community Association), in particular to link parent manufacturing orders to their child orders, or Skillreso modules maintained with every version.
Production does not live on its own. An order on your online shop or B2B portal must reserve stock, trigger manufacturing when needed, then delivery and invoicing. And if your group has several companies, sales, purchases and stock between them run in a single Odoo database, with separate accounting for each company.
