Odoo version upgrade: move to the new version without breaking anything.

Does Odoo migrate my database automatically?
No. Odoo does not migrate your databases automatically: an upgrade is prepared, tested on a copy and then cut over.
How long is an Odoo version supported?
Three years of standard support per major version. Odoo releases one version a year; after three years you pay for extended support or upgrade.
Is the upgrade included in the Enterprise contract?
The Enterprise contract includes upgrading Odoo’s native code. Custom code and modules that do not come from Odoo still have to be ported. With Odoo by Skillreso, the upgrade is covered by our contract.
Can we skip several versions at once?
With Enterprise, yes: Odoo’s upgrade service handles a request whatever the starting version. With Community, OpenUpgrade goes one version at a time. For very old or heavily customised databases, starting from a clean database is sometimes the safest option.
